Dump truck causes Bayfield power outage

A dump truck caused a short power outage for more than 1,000 residents in Bayfield and east of the town. The outage lasted from about 4 p.m. to 4:18 p.m.

The dump truck was doing construction work and backed into a pole causing the power lines to get tangled together, said Justin Talbot manager of lines and services.

While the lines were tangled they got slightly burned, he said. Crews from La Plata Electric Association have repaired the lines, where the dump truck was working three miles east of Bayfield on Highway 160.
