Today, a toast to Prince George at Seasons

To celebrate the birth of the future king of England as well as kudos for four recent wine vintages, John Sutcliffe is holding a shake, rattle, rule and release party today, Thursday, at Seasons Rotisserie and Grill.

Sutcliffe is from Wales and just couldn’t pass up the chance to hail the coming of the next generation of Britain’s monarchy as well as tooting the horn for his own babies, four wines honored by the wine magazine Wine Enthusiast. Sutcliffe Vineyards’ 2010 Merlot received 90 points – the most ever for a wine made in Colorado – and a milestone of excellence.

Also lauded were the 2009 Cabernet, the 2010 Syrah and the 2011 Pinot Gris. The first hauled in an editors’ choice award and the last two received 88 points on the 100 point scale.

The party is 5:30-8:30 p.m. and open to the public (although expect to pay for the wines you drink), with Sutcliffe and winemaker Joe Buckel on hand to talk about the different wines they will pour.
