Wolverines dominate All-IML volleyball teams

If the All-Intermountain League volleyball team had a nickname, it would be the Wolverines.

Bayfield High School placed three players on the six-person first team and two additional players on the second team.

BHS head coach Terene Foutz was named the league’s coach of the year for the second consecutive year, and senior Kirstie Hillyer added the IML Player of the Year award to her crowded mantle.

Hillyer also was named to the 2014 Colorado Coaches of Girls’ Sports All-State Volleyball Game as an all-state player and garnered honorable mention All-America honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Foutz, too, was a CHSCA All-State coaching selection.

Sophomore Maddi Foutz and senior Suzie Rhodes also were on the first team, while seniors Caitlyn Phelps and Jessie Roukema made the second team.
