Attending a performance of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker” ballet is a holiday tradition for many La Plata County families. And now, if you purchase tickets for the 7 p.m. Dec. 12 performance at the Durango Welcome Center between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m. Friday, you can take the family for half price.
The regular ticket price is $29 for orchestra and balcony and $39 for plaza seats.
The ballet, performed by the State Street Ballet of Santa Barbara in California, is returning for its eighth year. It will also feature 60 local dancers in the Christmas fantasy staged in a Victorian setting.
The ballet will also be performed at 2 p.m. Dec. 13 and 14, and 7 p.m. Dec. 13, but those tickets will be full price.
The Durango Welcome Center is located at the corner of Eighth Street and Main Avenue.
