Longtime FLC trustee says goodbye to board

Decker

The election of Fort Lewis College trustee officers Friday marked the end of an era for termed-out Peter Decker.

Decker served two years for a trustee who left and then was appointed twice to four-year terms by the governor. Otherwise, eight years is the maximum appointment.

Matt Wassam was not reappointed after one term.

Decker served since the FLC board of trustees became independent in 2003. Before 2003, FLC was under the governance of Colorado State University.

Elected to lead the FLC board of trustees starting in January were Chairwoman Karen Wilde, Vice Chairman Steve Short and Secretary/Treasurer Ernest House Jr.
