City to replace old meter keys

The device used to read the old cash keys at the Durango Transit Center will no longer be available after this month.

The city of Durango Parking Division will remove the device for reading old cash keys from the Durango Transit Center at the end of the month, according to the city.

The program to exchange the cash key will remain, but will no longer refund any balance remaining on the old key.

The key will continue to have value after the first of the year. The program to exchange a cash key for a new cash card for free will continue, a $10 value. The program also will put $25 on new cards.

The Transit Center’s cashiers office will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day. During those closures, parking-ticket payments can be made online using your license plate at durangogov.org.

For additional information, visit the Durango Transit Center, 250 W. Eighth St., or call 375-4960.
