Left lying about past support for CIA

Unlike the Herald and its insipid political cartoons, I say thank you to Vice President Dick Cheney, Jose Rodriguez, John Brennen and all in the CIA who protected and kept the United States and all its citizens safe after the Sept. 11 attacks.

The left, which definitely includes the Herald, as so often is the case, has a selective and limited memory. The outspoken leader of this forgetfulness is Nancy Pelosi who claims she was never told about enhanced interrogation, but this statement like her statement about Jonathan Gruber has proved to be false.

This lie has been triple checked and double confirmed. On Sept. 4, 2002, the House and Senate intelligence committees, including Pelosi, were thoroughly apprised of all interrogation techniques being used by the CIA. Their question at that time was “Is there more that can be done”? In bipartisan fashion, they approved and financed the CIA actions.

Barrack Obama, although he thinks he can, is not the one to define “torture.” He came out with one of his nifty clichés, “That is not who we are,” and we need to be transparent (he is very selective on that transparent idea.)

Well then, according to him, we are the ones who blow expected terrorists to smithereens from 10,000 feet with a Hellfire missile launched from a drone. This is being done with much collateral damage and loss of innocent lives, including women and children. In addition, waterboarding Khalid Sheikh Mohammed led directly to finding the whereabouts of Osama bin laden. Mistakes may have been made by a few, but overall, considering the sad and dark point of time in our country’s history, it was a worthwhile and necessary program. Very easy, more than 10 years afterward, for the left to wash their hands of it, but they were fully involved in all of the decisions at that time.
