Demo Days will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at Vallecito Nordic trails.

Participants will be able to try new gear, including skis, poles, boots and snowshoes. Representatives from various companies and local shops will be present. People will need to bring identification in order to try out equipment for free.

Free gumbo and chili will be offered during a cook-off.

Also, free introductory lessons will be held at 10:30 a.m., noon and 1:30 p.m. A youth race will be held at noon.

Vallecito Nordic Ski Club grooms the cross country ski trails, located on the east side of the lake. The club said that trails have been recently groomed, but snow in the campground areas remains a little thin.
