The University of Colorado Cooperative Extension is holding a workshop about grant possibilities for people in food production or nonprofits, co-ops or advocate groups.

The workshop lasts from noon to 4 p.m. March 14 in the Pine Room at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.

Farmers, ranchers, farm organization members or anyone interested in applying for a food-system grant could gain by attending, said Extension horticulturist Darrin Parmenter.

Direct technical assistance as well as tips on funding and best practices will be given by Dawn Thilmany and Becca Jablonski from the Extension.

RSVP to Parmenter at darrin.parmenter@co.laplata.co.us or at darrin.parmenter@colostate.edu. People who sign up before March 1 will get a light lunch and homework to get an early start on grant writing.
