Too many turnovers put Friday’s Bayfield High School girls basketball game out of reach.

The Wolverines lost 57-29 at Monte Vista, their 10th loss in a row to start the season.

“That’s where a lot of it came from,” BHS assistant coach Marti Toledo said. “That and Monte Vista shot lights out on us.”

Two freshman stepped up to pace the Wolverines in scoring. Courtney Bayles had seven points and Savannah Kaufmann scored four for BHS.

BHS will return home for a 1:30 p.m. Saturday game against Montezuma-Cortez.
