Cribbage proves popular at Elks Lodge

A record 152 competitors showed up Wednesday night for the 15th annual Snowdown Cribbage Tournament at the Durango Elks Lodge.

A record 152 cribbage fanatics crowded into the Durango Elks Lodge on Wednesday for the 15th annual Snowdown Cribbage Tournament.

Organizer Joni Paul had to quiet the big crowd several times as she led opponents to the 30 tables downstairs.

Kurt Gerlach with the Four Corners Peggers, the local cribbage club, said, “It’s always amazing how many people show up for cribbage.”

They usually have 10 or 15 show up at club get-togethers.
