Mummery makes finals splash

Divers still to compete Saturday

Anne Mummery and one Durango High School relay team will swim one more time this season after qualifying for the CHSAA Class 4A state championship finals.

Mummery finished 10th in the preliminaries of the 100-yard freestyle in 54.19 seconds and 11th in the 100-yard backstroke in 59.05.

Durango’s 200-yard medley relay squad of Catherine Dellinger, Elli Earl, Mira Joyner and Mummery took 13th in 1:57.51.

Earl finished the year by taking 30th in the 200-yard freestyle in 2:06.95 and 24th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:13.77.

Joyner was 39th in the 100-yard backstroke in 1:06.54.

The Demons’ 200-yard freestyle relay took 23rd in 1:49.14, and their 400-yard freestyle squad finished 19th at 3:54.31, just outside the cutoff for an alternate finals spot.

DHS still has three divers that will complete in prelims Saturday and could qualify for finals.
