Seedling workshops for public

The Colorado State Forest Service has scheduled two workshops on why planting seedling trees is important and how to go about it.

The workshops will be held at the La Plata County Fairgrounds 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on March 11 and 18. Among topics are the trees and shrubs suitable to Southwest Colorado, soil preparation, weed and erosion control and watering.

Cosponsors of the program are the La Plata Conservation District, the Natural Resources Conservation Service and the Colorado State University Extension.
