Service does not justify a new airport

I travel a lot. In the last 18 years I have used the Durango airport for 1.4 million air miles – mostly on United and all within the lower 48 states.

I no longer use the Durango airport for important flights because of the poor service and unsure schedule or actual departure of the flights to Denver. I drive to Albuquerque or Denver and fly from there because I cannot count on my Durango flight being on time or even flying.

Why build a new or expanded airport unless we have assurance of better air service from the carriers – especially United.

The service we have now does not deserve our investment in facilities.
