Trails 2000 hires new coordinator

Buratti

Durango has more than 300 miles of trails. Overseeing them all is no easy feat, either. Equipped with an army of volunteers under the watchful eye of a trail-hungry community, the order is a tough one, so nationally renowned trail builder Dewayne Buratti is the man for the job.

Durango nonprofit Trails 2000 hired Buratti, a Desert Storm veteran with a knack for moving dirt, as its new trails coordinator.

Buratti has worked with the Professional Trail Builders Association, serving in 12 states, Canada and Puerto Rico. He is charged with continuing to build, plan and maintain local trail networks, facilitating interactions with volunteers, in addition to being a key player in new projects.

“We will continue to add flavor and diversity to Durango’s already world-class trail network,” Buratti said in a news release.
