Clint Eastwood’s most recent movie dealing with the troubled Navy sharpshooter from Texas was a box office hit. Millions viewed the main character as a hero. I would argue that the true heroes of our ongoing wars are the men and women who returned home minus their arms, legs, sight, and/or sanity. There are at least two young men in the area that I am aware of that have had their lives shattered in service to this country. How often do we even think of the tens of thousands of veterans confined to a wheelchair that quietly go about their daily lives? Once a year during the Veterans Day parade?
