Seven players scored in the Bayfield High School girls soccer team’s 9-0 win over Ignacio on Friday in Bayfield.

Maddy Duran and Lydia Larson both scored two for BHS. Hailey Gomez, Savannah Kaufmann, Alyssa Knapp, Meaghan Mooney and Emily Popke each contributed one goal.

“The girls were passing really well and shooting really well,” BHS head coach Jen Zelinski said. “We got some off corners, good passes, through balls and things like that.”

BHS (4-2, 4-2 Class 3A Region 5) scored its most goals of the season and most since a 9-0 win, also over Ignacio, on March 29, 2013.

“We were connecting passes, we were communicating,” Zelinski said. “They had a lot of fun.”

The Wolverines next will play at Durango’s junior varsity at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Riverview Sports Complex.
