Dolores baseball steals win from Ignacio

Balanced Bears rack up 14 hits in win

A balanced Dolores lineup swung past the Ignacio High School baseball team Saturday in Dolores.

Eight different Bears picked up hits in Dolores’ 11-3 win over the Bobcats.

Stetson Hamilton, Tel Hamilton and Dalton Madden all hit doubles for Dolores (4-4, 2-0 San Juan Basin League) in an otherwise parade of singles.

The Bears had 14 hits total.

They also stole seven bases on seven attempts.

Stetson Hamilton picked up the win for the Bears, throwing five innings and allowing six hits and two earned runs while striking out four.

IHS (2-6, 0-1 SJBL) now has lost four games in a row after a .500 start.

They’ll next host Dove Creek, a state finalist last year, in a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. Saturday.
