Iron Horse shooting suspect appears in District Court

Williams’ hearing is postponed

One of two suspects in the March 16 shooting death of a man at the Iron Horse Inn saw his preliminary hearing Thursday postponed until 9 a.m. June 19.

A preliminary hearing determines if there is enough evidence to proceed to trial.

At that time, Aaron Williams is expected to have an answer to a plea offer from the 6th Judicial District Attorney’s Office. His co-defendant, Tyree Ogsbury-Jones, is due before 6th Judicial District Court Judge Jeffrey Wilson at the same time for his preliminary hearing.

The hearings are being handled as one, said Deputy District Attorney Reid Stewart, who declined to say what the plea offer to Williams entails.

Williams and Ogsbury-Jones are suspects in the shooting death of Daniel Johnson over a dispute about marijuana plants between Ogsbury-Jones and Brian Keith Moore, who was Johnson’s roommate.

Ogsbury-Jones and Williams went to the Iron Horse Inn armed with a rifle to confront Moore, who was treated for three superficial wounds to the chin, hand and shoulder. Johnson was killed.

Williams and Ogsbury-Jones, both former Fort Lewis College football players, are being held on $1 million each. Williams faces 19 charges; Ogsbury-Jones faces 21 charges.
