Cleanup could be instructive, helpful

Those of us lucky to live near and appreciate walking the grounds of Riverview School after hours, notice large amounts of litter. Small baggies, candy wrappers, chip and snack bags are left to blow in the wind.

As the school year ends in Durango, it would be wonderful if the principal would organize a student cleanup on the last day. Perhaps the other schools have the same problem and could do the same thing.

This action would have two benefits. The property would look as it did when the kids started in the fall, and it would be a teachable moment.

Thanks and have a great summer!
