TEHACHAPI, Calif. - One of two people killed in a small plane crash in Southern California reportedly is a fire official from Colorado.

Authorities in California said the plane hit a field Saturday and skidded onto a road after flying over a Fourth of July parade. The plane burst into flames, sparking a large grass fire that grew to about 2½ acres.

The chief of Colorado's Inter-Canyon Fire/Rescue District released a statement saying one of those killed was district board president Robert Chamberlain. Dave MacBean said Chamberlain is from Morrison.
