A single-car rollover killed a 26-year-old Farmington woman Thursday afternoon on Colorado Highway 140, about one mile north of the New Mexico border.

A second accident occurred at the scene when a tractor-trailer was flagged down in the northbound lane and then was rear-ended by another semitrailer owned by Stock Trans.

No one was injured in the semitrailer accident.

Patricia Jacquez, 26, was ejected after her southbound Ford coupe drifted off a steep embankment and rolled several times at mile marker 1.4 about 1:30 p.m., said Trooper Jonathan Silver of the Colorado State Patrol, who responded to the call.
Silver said Jacquez was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The way the tracks were running off the right side indicated a gradual drive-off. Either she fell asleep or she was distracted in the vehicle, and drove off the road gradually," he said.

Jacquez was not wearing a seat belt, Silver said.

Silver said Colorado 140 was closed for about four hours as crews cleaned up after the accidents.
