Animal Control

Monday

11:31 a.m. A beagle was captured in the 29000 block of Highway 160 east of Durango.

Sunday

4:13 p.m. A dog with a mutilated face in the east 300 block of 13th Street was under a veterinarian’s care after being bitten by another dog.

8:31 p.m. A Delwood Avenue resident reported being bitten by a neighbor’s dog.

Monday

8:03 a.m. A man reported that his recycling bin had been stolen overnight in the 200 block of East Fifth Avenue.

8:44 a.m. A news rack was stolen from outside Rite Aid in Town Plaza.

1: 31 p.m. A man passed out in the south City Market deli in Town Plaza.

Sunday

4:53 p.m. An out-of-town police officer asked for another officer to be present while delivering papers in the 900 block of East Second Avenue.

6:09 p.m. An injured deer was killed with two shots after being hit by a vehicle in the 2300 block of Rim Drive.

6:49 p.m. A caller in the 3300 block of Main Avenue asked that police check on a sick friend who had not been heard from for a week.

9:13 p.m. A disoriented motorist west of Durango on U.S. Highway 160 asked for directions.

9:36 p.m. Four juveniles were running in the alley at Main Avenue and 33rd Street.

10:02 p.m. A resident of the 2900 block of Richard Drive reported a threatening phone call from a man.

10:24 p.m. Several people loitered for more than an hour in the parking lot of a business in the 1300 block of Main Avenue.

11:38 p.m. A pair of men in dark clothing – one fat, one thin – ducked behind a tour bus and then ran in the 2900 block of Maine Avenue.

La Plata County Sheriff

Monday

5:14 a.m. A Black Angus cow was in the road on County Road 253, north of Durango.

9:00 a.m. A man had to move his trailer from the road near County Road 502 and County Road 501.

11:41 a.m. A driver weaving across the road ran into a ditch near the 6300 block of Florida Road (County Road 240).

Sunday

8:54 p.m. A woman and two children were asleep in a green Jeep in front of a business in the 28000 block of U.S. Highway 160, east of Farmington Hill.

Monday

10:20 a.m. The odor of gas was detected in a building in the 800 block of East Second Avenue.
