Everyday people should serve in Washington

Open letter to Sen. Udall and Sen. Bennett: I saw part of the program on Channel 9 on Oct. 24 with the two of you and Colorado's Representatives. At the end of the program, the two of you said that you would answer your constituents' e-mails. That would be nice, since some of us have been sending you e-mails and letters by U.S. Postal Service with mostly no answers. The one response that I received from Bennett was a "formed" response that didn't even match my concerns.

Udall's staff told us when he came to the too small room in the La Plata Courthouse he would respond to our questions that we submitted by mail if he didn't get to them with the small group inside.

Bennett chose to select the participants in his meetings in the area, guess he was afraid others might disagree with his stand on issues.

Both of you and most of our representatives seem to be ignoring many people's concerns over the ever increasing national debt. Ignoring the fact that most of us do not want national health care. We don't want others paying for ours when we choose to have a new flat-screen or ATV instead of buying health insurance.

Cap and trade is a tax that will affect the cost of pretty much everything. I ask both of you again a couple of questions on global warming: 1. What caused the last major ice age? 2. What caused the last major ice age to end? 3. Could the Earth go through natural temperature changes? Note, in the 1970s, the world's "leading" scientist claimed that carbon emissions were causing the Earth to go into an ice age. Don't let the political environmentalist take this country hostage!

I believe that the country should kick all those serving (or should I say power and money grabbing) out and send some everyday common people to Washington to serve us. In other words, return no one to Congress regardless of party affiliation.
