"That was probably our best game of the season," head coach Kelley Rifilato said.
"In Game 2, we put the ball away every time we had the opportunity to swing."
The Wolverines committed zero errors while recording eight kills and two blocks.
"I don't think we've ever done that before," Rifilato said of the errorless period.
Katherine Rifilato had seven kills and four digs, while Gabriella Rifilato led the Wolverines with seven digs out of 29 total to go with 21 assists and six kills.
Mikayla Moss scored two aces from the service line on 21 attempts, while the team collected six aces as a whole.
"Our serving took them out of it," coach Rifilato said.
Bayfield (8-0 overall, 2-0 Intermountain League) will host Monte Vista at 5 p.m. today in its penultimate home match of the season.
Bayfield will host San Juan at 7 p.m. Thursday in its home finale before finishing its regular season with road matches against Centauri and Montezuma-Cortez.
Coach Rifilato said the conference tournament, in which each team will meet again in pool play, is the true decider of fates, since a perfect regular-season record would not even ensure advancement to districts.
"As long as you're the team that's getting better, you'll be rewarded," she said.
