A screen capture from “Line of Descent: Behind the Scenes – Silverton, CO” shows Silverton.

There’s a star in the latest movie by legendary ski and snowboarding filmmaker Warren Miller that Durangoans will recognize: the small mountain town of Silverton.

Shots of Silverton Mountain were spotted in the recently released trailer for “Line of Descent.” Representatives with Warren Miller Entertainment did not immediately respond to The Durango Herald’s requests for comment.

And, a video posted to YouTube in April offers a behind-the-scenes look at the filming in Silverton.

“Ride along on a stunning cinematic journey as we travel near and far, descending some of North America’s deepest lines in Jackson Hole, Montana, Silverton, Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows and Steamboat,” the film’s website says.

Miller stopped making ski films in 2004, but the renowned Warren Miller Entertainment produces movies under his name. “Line of Descent” will be premiered across the U.S. this fall.

Or, if you happen to be in Accra, Ghana, where the average annual snowfall is zero inches, on Feb. 11, you can catch a showing at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. or 4 p.m. – and that’s Greenwich Mean Time.
