100 years ago: The business manager of The Durango Evening Herald transacted a business deal with the C.L. Taylor jewelry business.

75 years ago: The Hall family of Bloomfield and Mrs. Glyde Hubbard and her daughter, both of Aztec, were in Durango to shop at local stores.

50 years ago: Former Durangoan Mrs. Lee Holcomb, who had relocated to Farmington, won $5,000 in the 19th annual Pillsbury-General Electric Bake-off at the Dallas Merchandise Complex.

25 years ago: The Durango Recreation Advisory Board held an informal hearing to consider whether prohibiting skateboarding on all streets was a reasonable measure to continue to uphold.
