100 years ago: Anna Fredlund was listed as a visitor in Durango. She was in the city to transact business deals.

75 years ago: Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Bodo, local contributors to the sport of skiing, returned to the city after a 10-day vacation that was spent in Denver.

50 years ago: “The Purgatory ski area” reported excellent skiing conditions, with 61 inches of snow at midway and 1 inch that was fresh.

25 years ago: “Purgatory-Durango Ski Resort” reported a 102-inch base, with a recorded total snowfall of 314½ inches for the season.
