50 years ago: Students of Santa Fe artist Janet Lippincott opened a display of their work, which would last throughout the week, in the Oak room at the Strater Hotel.

25 years ago: Someone called La Plata County Sheriff’s Office to report a man who was yelling for help and waving a T-shirt on top of Ludwig Mountain south of Forest Lakes. Upper Pine River Fire District volunteers searched the area but did not find the man.
