50 years ago: The early days of the “love-hate affair between the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railway and southwestern Colorado” was the topic of discussion during Southwest Days at Fort Lewis College.

25 years ago: Durango Police Department received a report of a German shepherd in the parking lot of the General Palmer Hotel and an officer picked it up at the location to take it to La Plata County Humane Society, but the dog allegedly escaped after the officer found out that it had a tendency to bite.
