It's a simple thing: Horses and cattle require feeding - extra feeding in the winter. Minimum care requirements are clean hay, fresh water and a salt block. I would like to know why the Ute Mountain Ute horses and cattle in Hesperus are left on snow-buried, overgrazed pasture and not fed. Repeated calls to the Ute Mountain Ute office bring no answer other than the tribe is aware the horses and cattle are there. Does anyone know what can be done to require the owners of these starving animals be responsible and feed them?
