Move over Balloon Boy dad. Durango has its own alleged prankster.
The Durango Police Department on Tuesday arrested Troy J. Aderholdt, 21, of Durango, after he admitted
fabricating an elaborate story about being attacked at work by a man wearing a scary plastic
clown mask with orange hair," said police Capt. Micki Browning.
Aderholdt falsely reported that the assailant had entered the Alpine Inn, 3515 Main Ave., and threatened to rob him, Browning said. He claimed his skills as a recently returned Special Forces Veteran from Iraq allowed him to fend off
the attack, she said.
