My children are grown, but if they weren't, they would not attend a public school. The article on bullying (Herald,March 31) pointed out the double standard that exists in this country and especially in schools. The article pointed
out the protections provided for a student who was gay and a minority race but not provided for 15-year-old Phoebe
Prince, who hanged herself after being bullied.
The only way to avoid the affect of this double standard is to remove students from public schools. Every person who is
a citizen of this country is a minority of one. Every citizen is deserving of the right to life, liberty and the
pursuit of happiness. Phoebe Prince was not provided these rights and protections, unlike the others mentioned in the
When will this country awake to the progressive and activist court system and take the steps necessary for every
citizen to receive the protections afforded us by the Constitution?
