The 32nd annual Mountainfilm festival will be held May 28-31 in Telluride. Part festival, part think tank and part
carnival, Mountainfilm incorporates art, exploration, culture and care for the environment without losing its original
The Mountainfilm festival began in 1979 as a venue to showcase climbing and mountaineering movies. Held every Memorial
Day weekend since, it has grown to become a major proponent of adventure, awareness and activism.
The festival begins each year with the Moving Mountains Symposium that focuses on a pressing contemporary issue and
features leading authorities and experts. This year's theme is the extinction crisis - arguably the biggest threat
facing the planet. The festival also includes gallery exhibits, breakfast talks, panel discussions, and a book signing
by more than 30 authors.
