The Bobcats are looking for more.
The Ignacio High School baseball team, fresh off a nail-biting 8-6 win over Dove Creek in extra innings last weekend,will head to Dolores today looking for more.
The Bobcats, 6-7 overall, improved to 2-2 in the San Juan Basin League with Saturday's win over the Bulldogs in Dove
They're staring down the final portion of the regular season with the conference finales scheduled Saturday in Nucla -
a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m.
Second baseman Garret Becker hammered out three doubles, scored twice and drove in three runs when Ignacio came from
behind to beat Dove Creek in eight innings.
Josh Plehinger, the Ignacio shortstop, had two hits - including a triple - and he scored three times.
Tony Hutchinson, the starting pitcher, also had two hits and drove in two runs in the Bobcats' win. Anthony Porambo was
2 for 4 with a double.
Hutchinson started on the mound, pitching three innings.
Mark Garcia relieved him in the fourth and fifth.
Porambo, who pitched the sixth, seventh and eighth innings, picked up the win in relief. He allowed only one hit and no
runs over his three innings of work. He also struck out four.
Dove Creek stalwart Justin Guynes had an impressive outing for the Bulldogs. He struck out 15, going the full eight
innings against the Bobcats.
Earlier this season, Ignacio edged Dove Creek 8-7 in eight innings. Guynes struck out eight in that game.

They've come a long way since the start of the season. The guys really responded. The seniors responded very well,"
The Bobcats are in second place in the conference at 2-2 behind Dolores (4-0).
Ignacio will play a key doubleheader at Dolores today, starting at 1 p.m.
Nucla, 2-3, is a half-game behind the Bobcats. Ignacio is scheduled to play a doubleheader at Nucla on Saturday,starting at 11 a.m.
The Bobcats will have one more makeup game against Dove Creek to finish the regular season.
The District Tournament for the Class 2A baseball teams will be May 8.
Class 2A Regionals are scheduled for May 14-15.
The Class 2A State Championships will be May 20-22.
The Ignacio baseball roster for 2010 includes Becker, Plehinger, Porambo, Tyler Wancura, Jeff Herrera, Cuauhtemoc
Torres, Alex Pena, Richard Hott, Jesse Vigil, Dylan Sanchez, Ray Sanchez, Tyler Young, Orion Watts, Andrew Gallegos,Jared Ruybal, Tony Hutchinson and Sara Hutchinson. Tony Hutchinson, Garcia, Porambo and Young have been handling the
pitching duties, Eleck said.
