Film fest to benefit humane societyThere will be a Bow Wow Film Festival benefiting the La Plata County Humane Society on Thursday at the Durango Arts Center.
It will be an evening of short dog-themed films that feature dogs on adventure, service dogs and lifelong companions.
The show will start at 7 p.m., and doors will open at 6:30 Thursday.
Tickets are $12 for adults and $7 for children younger than 12 online or $15 for adults, $7 for children at the door.

San Juan Symphony tickets to go on saleTickets for the 2016-17 season of the San Juan Symphony will go on sale starting Monday. The symphony will offer four subscription concerts in Durango and Farmington.

Get ready for Purg Jam on July 30Purgatory Resort will host its summer music festival “Purg Jam” from 1-8 p.m. July 30. There will be seven hours of music, including four different bands (plus one to be announced next week). The lineup features the following bands:
Jaden Carlson Band – Jaden is the youngest artist ever to perform at Red Rocks. This high-energy band from Boulder blends funk, soul, jazz, fusion and rock.Elder Grown – Funk meets rock and pop meets hip-hop.
