Mandatory athletic meeting at DHS is Aug. 8The Athletics Department at Durango High School will hold a mandatory parent, coach and athlete meeting for all fall sport participants at 6 p.m. Aug. 8 in the school’s main gym.
Important information will be distributed, and there will be an opportunity to meet coaches and the new athletic director, Adam Bright.
DHS to hold red card sports registrationAll Durango High School student athletes participating in CHSAA-sponsored athletics or activities must turn in a red card to participate.
DHS will host red-card registration for fall sports during these dates and times:
Aug. 3-15 during office hours.Aug. 15 is the deadline for fall sports. Red cards will be available after school only, pending coach’s approval.Miller Middle School to host football campMiller Middle School will host a football mini-camp from 8 to 11 a.m. Aug. 9-11 at Miller football field.
A combination of classroom learning and skills and conditioning will be featured.
The camp is voluntary, and there will be no contact. Players should be dressed in shorts, T-shirts and cleats.
Official football practices to start Aug. 15 at MillerMiller Middle School will begin official football practices at 8 a.m. Aug. 15.
Players must have submitted athletic registration forms, health physicals and activity fees to participate.
