World AIDS Day honors those lost, promotes education

Quilt on display at Fort Lewis College; free testing available

Students read the AIDS Memorial Quilt on display at the Fort Lewis College Student Union Building. The quilt, which has been at the Durango Public Library in past years, is hanging at the college this year to raise awareness about the disease.

Free, confidential HIV testing will be available Thursday at these locations:
10 a.m.-3 p.m., San Juan Basin Health Department, 281 Sawyer Drive.11 a.m.-3 p.m., Student Union Building, Fort Lewis College.4:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m., student health center, Fort Lewis College.8 a.m.-4 p.m., student health clinic, Durango High School (available to Durango School District 9-R students only).
