Many of the 14-and-under Durango Swim Club swimmers attended the Western Slope Championships in Montrose last weekend, featuring top performers in multiple age categories.
"I am extremely proud of all the swimmers," said age group coach Suzanne Schieltz. "They have worked very hard through the season, and it showed in their results this past weekend."
Ruby Epstein won the 8-and-under girls 100 and 50 backstroke. Mira Joyner won most of her events and received the high point award for the 8-and-under girls.
Emmett Stottlemyer won four events in his age group and swam a handful of personal bests.
Six-year-old Saylor Stottlemyer swam all best times and was in the thick of things against 10-year-olds.
Jesse Rubestein won high point in the 11-12 age group.
The Durango Swim Club will participate in the Age Group Sectional Meet against teams from across all four corners on April3-5 in Farmington.
The club's senior swimmers are facing off against teams from around Colorado in the Senior State Meet this weekend in Denver.
