Quilting group to meet today
The La Plata Quilters Guild will meet at 5:30 p.m. today at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 495 Florida Road.
The guest speaker will be Barb Jansen with Landscape Quilts. The public is welcome.
Those interested are invited to become members.
Membership allows access to retreats, workshops and programs.
Members also have the opportunity to participate in round robins, mystery quilts, block exchanges, community projects and shows. Membership is $25 per year.

Full moon hike to be held Monday
Durango Nature Studies will hold a full moon hike from 7:45 to 9:45 p.m. Monday at Animas Mountain.
Gretchen Lamar will share moon facts and nighttime lore.
Participants should bring snacks, a flashlight and an extra layer.
The event is free for members and $10 for nonmembers.

FLC students to sell produce Thursdays
The Old Fort Farm Stand will be open from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursdays near the Fort Lewis College Clock Tower.
Produce will include greens, radishes, carrots, broccoli, snow peas, basil, oregano, cilantro, dill and sage. Grass-finished ground beef and pork also will be sold.
FLC students grow the produce and raise the animals for the market at the Old Fort Lewis land in Hesperus.
Parking is free. Cash and checks will be accepted.
Chip-and-seal of roads to begin Monday
The La Plata County Road & Bridge Division will begin the chip-and-seal of county roads Monday at these locations:
b County Road 501, 8 miles north from Bayfield from Monday through Wednesday.
b County Road 225, 2.2 miles south from County Road 228 to 223 from July 29 through 30.
Working hours will be from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Traffic will be reduced to one lane, and a pilot car will be used. Delays as long as 30 minutes should be anticipated.
