The husband and wife team of Derek Trucks and the Susan Tedeschi Band will headline the second night of the 17th annual Telluride Blues & Brews Festival in September.
The announcement was a long time coming, as Trucks and Tedeschi were not included in the original lineup when it was released earlier this year. Both have played Blues & Brews several times previously, but its the first headlining honor for either.
Trucks is considered one of the hottest young guitarists on the modern blues circuit, and Tedeschi has established herself as one of the blues leading ladies.
The lineup now is complete, as Trucks and Tedeschi will be sandwiched between Fridays closer, George Thorogood & the Destroyers with Elvin Bishop and Eddie Shaw, and Sundays show-stopping headliner, blues legend B.B. King.
Others scheduled to perform during the three-day festival Sept. 17-19 include Galactic with Cyril Neville and Corey Henry, Jimmie Vaughan and the Tilt-A-Whirl Band, Allen Toussaint, T-Model Ford, Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, J.J. Grey & Mofro, Cedric Burnside & Lightnin Malcom, Matt Schofield, Alberta Cros, The Dana Fuchs Band, Ronnie Baker Brooks, The Beth Hart Band, Gospel Morning with the Otis Taylor Band featuring Chuck Campbell and the Sheryl Renee Choir, Grady Champion, Terrence Simian & the Zydeco Experience, Dead Confederate, the Sugar Thieves, The Bill Magee Blues Band, Little Al Thomas and The Deep Down Fools.
The showcase Grand Tasting will take place Sept. 18 with more than 50 microbreweries represented.
Tickets are on sale for the full festival, single day, Juke Joint, Bal de Maison and After Hours Jam. Tickets may be purchased online at www.tellurideblues.com or by phone at (866) 515-6166.
