The playoff run for the Bayfield High School boys basketball team ended in Aspen on Friday night.
The host Skiers won 69-36 in the Class 3A Regionals at Aspen High School, improving to 22-1 on the season.
The BHS boys, who reached the regionals with a second-place finish at the Intermountain League District Tournament last weekend, ended the season 7-14.
The Aspen school campus was evacuated Friday morning because of a bomb threat, written on a note found in an Aspen High School restroom.
Law enforcement officials searched the grounds and the building and reopened the facilities for Friday night's basketball playoff games "We just couldn't get anything going," BHS head coach Chad Nachtrieb said. "We started off slow. We just weren't ourselves."
Freshman Seth Posey led Bayfield with eight points. Logan Funkhouser added six.
Buena Vista eliminated Platte Valley of Bailey 67-57 in an earlier game in Aspen.
Buena Vista (17-7) will play Aspen at 1 p.m. today for the regional title.
In other boys Class 3A regional play, Pagosa Springs lost at home to St. Mary's of Colorado Springs 48-42 Friday night.
Erie defeated Dolores Huerta 79-58 in the other game at Pagosa Springs.
Erie will take on St. Mary's in today's regional title game.
