Nondenominational gospel meetings to be held
Nondenominational gospel meetings will be held from 4 to 5 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 14 at the Durango Community Recreation Center, 2700 Main Ave., and from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Fridays through Nov. 12 at the Cortez Recreation Center, 425 Roger Smith Ave. in Cortez.
No collections will be taken and all are welcome.

Buddhist retreat to hold benefit show
An Evening with Peter Rowan and special guests Wild Mountain, a benefit for Tara Mandala Buddhist Retreat Center, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at the Durango Arts Center, 802 East Second Ave.
Rowan is a bluegrass singer-songwriter, and Wild Mountain is an all-acoustic string band from Durango. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the show begins at 7 p.m. There will be a silent auction with all proceeds benefiting Tara Mandala. Costumes are encouraged. The cost is $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
