Bicycle sales, repair shop opens
San Juan Cycles announces its opening at 111 E. 30th St.
The business offers full-service bicycle repair, road and mountain bikes, tune-ups, suspension and hydraulic brake repair, wheel builds, bike builds and special orders. It also is an authorized Giant Bicycle dealer.
Owner Tom Neb has worked in the bike industry for more than 20 years. Neb graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1998. In 2000, he was the mechanic for the Rock Shox Devo Junior Development Team. He also was a member of the U.S. World Championship Team in 2000 and in 2001 for Elite Modified Trials. Neb spent the last seven years working for Giant Bicycles as the team mechanic, head mechanic and demo program manager. He has worked UCI World Championships as a trade team mechanic for Giant and federation mechanic with USA Cycling. Neb attended the 2008 Olympics in support of Giant team rider and Olympian Adam Craig and was mechanic for USA cyclings pre-Olympic camp in South Korea.

Sewing center opens in Durango
Durango Sewing Center announces its opening at 1111 Camino del Rio.
The business, owned by Gayle Amato, offers unique fabrics, including the largest Kaffe Fassett collection in Colorado, Janome sewing machine sales and services and Tin Lizzie.
It is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and employs four.
