Overends eighth annual bike festival this week
The eighth anuual Ned Overend & Bouré Bike Fweest is expanding this year.
Durango Wheel Club, Church of the High Pines, Durango Cyclery and Durango DEVO are combining to host a series of cycling events this week in Durango.
Russell Zimmerman of Durango Cyclery and Chad Cheeney of Durango DEVO are hosting a pub-to-pub night ride today. Cyclists are to meet at the Irish Embassy Pub on 9th and Main at 6:30 p.m. today, then will roll out at 7 p.m. for a night ride on the Test Tracks before returning to the pub.

Hal McLean will guide a trip Wednesday around Cherry Creek or something like it, he said. Old school, big fun, no racing. The ride will leave from Christinas Bar and Grill along U.S. Hwy 160 at 10 a.m.

Wade Moore will lead a tour of eastern La Plata County on road-bike suitable dirt roads chosen for their smoothness and beauty. The tour will leave from The Upper East Side Deli along U.S. Hwy 160 at 10 a.m. Parking is available at Mercy Medical Center on the opposite side of the highway.
