Congested parking lot adds produce stand, restricts spots
Robert Payton, manager at Mac’s Liquor, and owner Sharon Gill decided not to renew a lease for the store’s parking lot with north City Market. The Mac’s Liquor parking lot, which is behind the store, is now being leased to a produce vendor. City Market had leased the Mac’s lot for 36 years.
Mac’s Liquor has leased its parking lot behind the store to Peach Valley Produce. City Market created seven parking spaces at the edge of the lot, after losing the ones the market leased from Mac’s.
Kelby Dyc loads groceries into his car in the south end of the parking lot at north City Market. City Market and Mac’s Liquor were unable to renew a lease agreement for the parking area behind Mac’s that City Market customers have used for years. Mac’s has leased the parking area to Peach Valley Produce.
