The concrete islands at the new intersection of East Third Avenue and Florida Road are dangerous and need to be removed immediately. Bring in the bulldozers.
They make the intersection considerably trickier. Numerous cars and trucks already have struck them; just look at the tire scars. Its hard enough in winter to make it uphill and around this corner carrying exactly the right momentum without also having to thread a needle. Not to mention ducking down behind an uphill vehicle to make a left turn from Third onto 15th has been rendered impossible.
How long until someone slides right into the brick wall protecting the big blue house?
Once the city smashes a snowplow blade or two on these islands and cant get around to everything else that needs plowing, there will be a public uproar. Not to mention the lack of drains on the new section of Florida virtually guarantees constant black ice on this corner.
City Council, take them out now.
