I find it quite curious that a self-professed fundamentalist Christian should present such compelling evidence of the Buddhist notion of reincarnation (Letters, Herald, Nov. 24).
Imagine, sometime in the past, some poor, ignorant homophobic monk suffering from too much systemic mercury sat down and wrote the words that God was shouting in his head. Somehow, this importuning found its way into the Bible (literally, the book), during one of the endless hubristic editings of that redoubtable document.
Time flies, the cosmic wheel of life rolls on inexorably, and this poor soul has doomed itself to an endless repetition of this short-circuited mantra persecuting the bedroom preferences of other souls, reborn again and again to spout vitriolic poison, wrapped in the guise of some holier-than-thou beatific ascended master.
Looks like this life lesson will have to wait a few more manifestations to be rectified. So it goes. Surely, this must be yet another definition of hell. Energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed; and so it shall be, continually.
Chaplains dont want to preach at gays in the military, huh? Okey dokey. They can go preach elsewhere.
