It blows my mind why the city is so intent on changing the name of Goeglein Gulch Road. It is one of the few things we have left of our original identity.
We are not any other town, nor do we want to be. We are Durango! It appears to me that City Manager Ron LeBlancs solution is to throw money (taxpayers money, not his) at the issue and it will go away. Apparently, the budget is not as critical as the City Council is saying if we can keep throwing money on things like changing names of roads.
What about the maintenance and repair of our street? It seems to me that would be a better use of our (taxpayers) money. Naming some obscure trail, building or whatever, is a slap in the Goeglein familys face.
