Justin Johnson is going to suit up one more time.
The Fort Lewis College senior wide receiver will toss on the pads one more time collegiately after being selected to play in the 17th annual Cactus Bowl on Jan. 7 in Kingsville, Texas.
The Cactus Bowl is an all-star game featuring the best seniors Division II has to offer.
Joining Johnson will be Harlon Hill Trophy winner Eric Czerniewski, a quarterback from Central Missouri, and old Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference foes Marc Schiechl and Evan Woody from Colorado School of Mines and Tony Kelly from Mesa State.
Johnson, a senior from San Diego, led the RMAC in receptions (89) and receiving yards (1,242) in his final season at Fort Lewis, one in which the Skyhawks went 3-7. After playing at Grossmont College for two years, Johnson finished with 2,378 yards and 213 receptions in two seasons with Fort Lewis.
Hes an outstanding football player who deserves all the recognition he gets, FLC head coach Cesar Rivas said in a news release.
The 5-11 receiver will be the first Skyhawk to play in the Cactus Bowl since current Fort Lewis linebackers coach Mark Meng was chosen after the 2008 season.
